Support my D-Day Challenge
Supporting those suffering with mental health issues is a cause close to my heart. I am open about the fact that my journey with mental health has been a challenging one, including living with PTSD, with my military service playing a significant role. But it’s the courage of those facing even greater battles that inspires me to make a difference.
This year, I’ve joined forces with Combat Stress, the UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health, to truly impact lives. Driven by purpose and the desire to do daft things, I’m taking on a new challenge this year – I will be running in the D-Day 44 Challenge. It’s been a while since I’ve approached such distances, but I’m delighted to say that training is progressing well, and I’m filled with anticipation, alongside a little trepidation, for the adventure ahead.
The D-Day 44 Challenge honours the 1944 Allied invasion of occupied France. I’ll be racing through Normandy’s beautiful beaches, concluding at the historic Pegasus Bridge on the 80th anniversary of D-Day, June 6, 2024.
Combat Stress has been a pillar of support for over a century, aiding former servicemen and women with trauma, anxiety, depression, and PTSD. They continue to provide invaluable assistance to veterans from all services and conflicts.
This endeavour is deeply meaningful to me, not just as a personal achievement but as an opportunity to raise awareness and garner support for mental health initiatives. Your encouragement and sponsorship mean everything. Whether you’re cheering from the sidelines or offering financial support, every bit helps.
Every little helps to make a significant impact and bring mental health issues to the forefront.
Thank you so much for your support.

Well done Charles and Good luck.
This is a fantastic cause and a tough challenge. My wife and I both struggle with mental health challenges and have access to great healthcare and flexible workplaces - it must be so much harder for Vets. Good luck on the training and more importantly going tea total. Paul & Luise
