Skilful Salute

As a mark of respect for the ability of our armed forces to adapt and learn new skills and for veterans entering our workforce and having to learn in a completely new environment, we are challenging employees to learn something new and raise money for Combat Stress.

This could be learning to juggle, learning sign language or learning to beatbox – get creative! Funds raised will go to Combat Stress and BAE Systems will match any funds you raise (up to £250 per employee). You can learn something yourself or do it as part of a team. 

By taking part, you will also enter a prize draw for Armed Forces Week-themed prizes and the opportunity to win £1,000 for a charity of your choice.

How it works

Show your adaptability by learning a new skill in support of our veterans and reservists. You will need to commit to learning your new skill and raising money from friends and family by Friday 1 September. We’ve recently extended the deadline to give you the summer for learning and practice.

Register

Get started by registering as an individual, team or family and setting up your fundraising page. Registration is free, but you can make a “self-donation” to kick start your fundraising.

Learn

Get creative and learn something new. By taking part, you will enter a prize draw to win Armed Forces Week prizes and one winner will have the opportunity to donate £1,000 to a charity of their choice.

Raise funds

Share your fundraising page and your achievements with friends, family and colleagues. By sponsoring you, they will help raise vital funds for Combat Stress.
