Charlie, Charlie One - Combat Stress and the Irreverent Warriors are calling all British and American veterans, serving personel and reservists to take part in the first Silkie's hike in the UK.

The hike is designed to bring veterans together to help encourage conversation about mental health, the hike provides the opportunity for a bit of banter and camaraderie between military personnel past and present.

The 22k hike is named after the US military PT shorts "silkies" with (an optional) 22kg – a reference to the veterans who take their own lives every single day in the US, based on the US Veterans Administration's Suicide Data Report, 2012 study.

There is no cost to enter, but fundraising is encouraged to raise money for our life-changing mental health treatment.

Our goal

When, Where, How

Join us on Saturday 4 September and take the opportunity to encourage conversation about mental health. Through our Peer Support Service, we know the value of sharing experiences of mental health issues and receiving support and understanding from others who’ve walked a similar path.

Participants taking part in the Silkie's Hike will start and finish at Victoria Embankemnt Gardens in Central London.  The route takes in many of the capital iconic sights.

There is no cost to enter, but fundraising is encouraged to raise money for our life-changing mental health treatment.
