When and where do I complete my 10 miles?

You can complete the challenge at any time in March! How and where you complete the challenge is completely up to you, which means the event can be adjusted to your own personal challenge – walk ten miles in one day, beat your personal best by running 10 miles as fast as possible or do it indoors on a treadmill.

Please be sure to follow the COVID-19 government guidlines and rules at the time. Be careful, stay safe, use your best judgement and wear high-viz clothing if out at night. 

What if I can’t do 10 miles in one day?

No problem! If you can’t do your 10 miles in one day, you can spread it out over a number of days in March to suit you. March in March is a virtual event done your way.

How does the government guidance on social distancing affect my challenge?

Walking in the fresh air is a great way to give your mental health a boost and we should all be leaving the house for exercise daily; giving you the perfect opportunity to complete your challenge!

When completing your March in March, only do so with members of your household or alone. Be sure you always keep 2 metres away from others and to adhere to the government guidleines at the time of your challenge.

Can I take part with family and friends?

Yes – the more the merrier! Please be sure to check and follow government guidelines at the time and make sure your challenge is covid-19 compliant.

Can I enter my child in the event?

Yes! March in March is a great challenge for all the family, but please ensure that children are accompanied by an adult at all times.

How will my registration fee be spent?

It costs just £15 to register for March in March. This fee goes towards supporting our work and covers the medal cost, postage, packaging and processing.

How do I track my miles?

You can either connect your Strava or Fitbit to your profile page during the sign-up process, or if you do not have either of these there is an option to add your miles in manually.

We recommend using Strava. It is free and easy to join and you can also join our Team Combat Stress Strava group.

Follow these steps to track your miles automatically:

1. Download the Fitbit, Strava or MapMyFitness app and set up your account

2. Log in to your March in March account.

3. Under the heading ‘Connect your preferred Fitness app’, click your chosen app.

4. Follow the prompts to connect your account

5. When you next work out, select ‘start your workout’ in the app on your phone. Once you end your workout, save your workout and your distance will be published to the tally on your page the following day.

How much do I have to fundraise to take part?

There’s no fundraising target for March in March, we’d just love you to raise as much as you can.

We advise you to set you fundraising target at £300 and see how you go! The funds and awareness you raise from your 10 miles will help us provide life changing treatment to the veterans who turn to us. We feel you should be rewarded for your efforts, so why not try to collect our March in March rewards throughout March? Rewards will be sent out weekly…

When will the fundraising rewards be sent?

We will send out rewards at the start of each week starting from 22nd February 2021.

Can I get a Combat Stress t-shirt?

Yes please visit our online shop for Combat Stress branded clothing. You could also receive a Combat Stress T-Shirt if you raise £100 from your March in March fundraising.

When do I receive my March in March medal?

We will send out medals on 06 April 2021. Please make sure you have uploaded your finishing photo and miles to your account. We use second class post and medals should be with most people within 3 – 4 business days of uploading their run photo. If you feel you should have already received your medal based upon the information above, please contact us via the contacts page and we will get back to you asap.

How do I set up an online fundraising page?

When you register for March in March, you will be automatically directed to setting up an online fundraising page. Share your fundraising link with your friends and family and you will be sent a wristband when you receive your first donation!

How long do I have to fundraise?

Ideally we would like you to have completed your fundraising by the end of April. If you have any questions or concerns about fundraising, please contact us on challenges@combatstress.org.uk or give us a call on 01372 587 140.

How do I pay in offline donations?

If you have any offline donations, there are a number of ways you can pay your money in.

Put the money into your bank account and then add this onto your fundraising page.

Send a cheque made payable to “Combat Stress” to March in March, Combat Stress, Tyrwhitt House, Oaklawn Road, Leatherhead, Surrey KT22 0BX. Please don’t send cash through the post.
